An emotional milestone marked the achievement of 32-year-old Anasimeci Ravai, who graduated with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science.

The day was especially meaningful as she reflected on the unwavering support of her late father, wishing he had been there to witness her accomplishment.

Ravai described her journey as deeply emotional one shaped by loss, but also by resilience and determination that pushed her forward.

She lost her father in 2019, and in 2022, just as she began her Master’s program, she also lost her sister.

Despite these hardships, she persevered. A year after receiving her scholarship, she got married and soon faced another challenge beginning her Master’s studies while pregnant. She recalls that conducting fieldwork during this time was particularly difficult.

Ravai credits her parents as her greatest inspiration, especially her late father, who always encouraged her to strive beyond her limits.

She previously completed her Bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma at USP before pursuing her Master’s.
