Hong Kong 7s: Fijiana get thumped 38-0 by New Zealand

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side were outclassed 38-0 by New Zealand in their final pool game this afternoon at the Hong Kong 7s.

The Black Ferns scored through Jorja Miller with a double, Risi Pouri-Lane, Jaymie Kolose, Stacey Waaka, and Maia Davis.

They led 14-0 at halftime.

The Fijiana were outmatched, outmuscled, and outplayed, by a stronger New Zealand side.

The Fijiana lost their first game 12-5 to Japan, then edged Brazil 15-12.

The Richie Walker-coached side will need to improve their standings in the next two World Championship tournaments in Spain and France if they want to remain in the top-tier 7s competition.

The women's Cup quarterfinals start at 9.13 tonight.

The women's Cup semifinals are at 5.14pm tomorrow while the Cup final is at 10.35pm.

In other games, Japan thrashed Brazil 34-7, Australia edged Canada 19-17, South Africa thumped Great Britain 19-5,
