Global Care Suva striker Gagame Feni was the hero for his side, scoring a hat-trick as Suva came from behind to beat Blue Gas Navua 3-1 in the first match of the Extra Battle of the Giants 2026 at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba.
Navua went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead, but Suva produced an excellent comeback in the second half.
The win gives Suva three valuable points and a strong start to its Pool A campaign.
Navua captain Thomas Dunn will miss the remaining pool matches after receiving a red card in the second half.
Suva coach Pita Rabo says his halftime message to the players was that they had to be hungry for the win, as it would never come easy.
Rabo says the game against defending champions Labasa will be a tough one, but his players have to believe in themselves.
He says it will be a deciding game for them.
Meanwhile, defending champions Labasa are playing Nasinu in the second match.
In the other matches, Rewa will take on Lautoka at 5pm, while hosts Ba will face Nadi at 7.30pm.
