Lesianawai has been appointed Manager Governance, Legal and Board Secretary at MSAF.
The IMO-International Maritime Law Institute congratulated Lesianawai on her appointment after she graduated from the Institute earlier this year with a Master of Laws in International Maritime Law.
Her appointment follows a successful academic year, during which she was selected to deliver the valedictory address on behalf of the Institute’s 2025–2026 graduating class.
She also received the Best Performance Prize in recognition of her academic performance.
Lesianawai has family ties to Vuna in Taveuni through her father and Yavu Village in Batiki through her mother.
She spent part of her childhood in Batiki and attended Batiki District School, growing up in a maritime community where the sea plays an important role in everyday life and provides a vital connection to other parts of Fiji.
Her journey has since taken her from Batiki to postgraduate studies in international maritime law, and now to a senior role with the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji.
