26-year-old French goalkeeper Didier Desprez has signed with Bula Football Club ahead of the upcoming season, strengthening the club’s squad with valuable international experience.

Speaking about his move, Desprez says he is delighted to join the Bula FC team.

He says the move will give him the opportunity to see football beyond the European leagues.

Desprez adds that when he was contacted, the idea immediately appealed to him, and he is looking forward to working with the team and winning matches.

Originally from Lille, France, Desprez began playing football at the age of five, inspired by watching matches with his parents and playing with friends in his local community.

His early passion for the game saw him progress through the youth ranks of his local club before earning a place at the Racing Club de Lens academy, where he spent eight years developing his skills and later signed his first professional contract.

During his time in France, Desprez gained valuable match experience through loan spells, including a stint with JA Drancy in the French third division.

He later joined Paris FC, enjoying a strong six-month period that led to a move to Belgian first-division side RCSC Charleroi.

The goalkeeper then spent two seasons in Luxembourg’s top division with F91 Dudelange, where he featured regularly and played in the UEFA Europa Conference League, further enhancing his European experience.

At international level, Desprez represented France from Under-15 to Under-20, taking part in one FIFA Youth World Cup and two UEFA European Championships.

Bula FC has welcomed Desprez to the squad, expressing confidence that his experience, professionalism and passion will be a valuable asset as the club prepares for the new season.

The club will take on Vanuatu United FC in the OFC Pro League’s opening match on 17 January at 2pm at Eden Park in Auckland.
