Four people have died following a road accident in Vatukoula this morning.
Police say the people were returning from a family function in Ba when the driver, a man in his 40s, lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a nearby river.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, his wife, their nine-year-old daughter and his sister-in-law were rushed to Tavua Hospital, where their deaths were confirmed by medical officials.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are continuing.
