Manasa Rokotuivuna says graduating as a lab technician from the Fiji National University is a dream come true, after facing one of the hardest periods of his life following the loss of his mother last year.
The 31-year-old from the village of Navala in the highlands of Ba, says there were many painful days, sleepless nights and moments where he felt like giving up, but his faith in God kept him going.
Rokotuivuna, who comes from a farming family, says life was never easy growing up.
He says his father worked as a farmer before becoming a feeder and logger, while his mother stayed home to care for the family.
He says standing proudly with his certificate is not only his achievement, but also a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness.
Rokotuivuna graduated with a diploma in lab technician studies, and hopes to continue his nursing career in the coming years, if the opportunity arises.
He says his late mother remained his greatest inspiration throughout his journey.
The Graduate says although his mother was not physically beside him, she continued praying for him and encouraging him spiritually to complete his studies.
Rokotuivuna also thanked his family, especially his aunt and relatives, for supporting him during the past two years.
He is encouraging young people to never give up on their dreams despite life’s struggles and challenges.
He added that pain, disappointment and failure should not define a person’s future, adding that faith, determination and perseverance can help achieve greater things.
