The FIJI Water Flying Fijians lost to Scotland 33-17 in their third Nations Championship match this morning at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Scotland made a strong start, with Jonny Gray scoring the opening try to give the hosts a 7-0 lead. Fiji responded a few minutes later through captain Tevita Ikanivere, narrowing the margin to 7-5.

The Flying Fijians then produced a superb counterattack from inside their own 22. Selestino Ravutaumada raced down the touchline before collecting a chip kick to score Fiji's second try, giving the visitors a 10-7 lead.

Scotland continued to press, but Fiji's defence stood firm, denying the hosts on several occasions.

Fiji were then dealt a blow when flanker Lekima Tagitagivalu was shown a yellow card, leaving the side down to 14 men for 10 minutes after conceding a string of penalties.

Despite being a man down, Fiji launched another brilliant attack.

Scotland was caught napping around the ruck, allowing Elia Canakaivata to score and extend Fiji's lead to 17-7.

Fiji's defence came under relentless pressure, but they held on to their 17-7 advantage at halftime.

The second half belonged to a rejuvenated Scottish side, who dominated possession and territory.

The hosts ran in four unanswered tries, with Jamie Dobie scoring a double, while Pierre Schoeman and Scott Cummings also crossed to seal a 33-17 victory.
