A Flash Flood and Heavy Rain Warnings remain in force for Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country.

They say this will bring occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times, and thunderstorms with strong winds.

Possible impacts include flash flooding of drainages, small streams, low water bridges, properties in low lying areas, and Irish Crossings which can lead to traffic disruptions.

Surface flooding is also expected on streets in urban areas with poor drainage, while wet roads and reduced visibility especially during heavy downpours may increase the risk of road accidents.

The National Disaster Risk Management Office is warning people to stay away and refrain from attempting to cross or swim in flooded areas.

They are also saying for people to contact the Fiji Police Force or the National Fire Authority should they need assistance to move to higher ground.
