People are advised to take all necessary precautionary measures as a flash flood alert and heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country till next week.

Hazard flash flooding can be caused by heavy rain and this is based on rainfall forecast models, and weather radars.

Expect flooding of drainage systems, small streams, low water bridges, Irish crossings, roads and properties in low lying areas.

The Weather Office says there will be occasional rain and few thunderstorms over most places.
