Final Day of Suva Zone 2 to be electrifying as Marist and Grammar leads boys and girls medal tally

The final day of the Coca Cola Suva Zone 2 is expected to be electrifying as Marist Brothers High School and Suva Grammar School aim to retain their title in the boys and girls divisions.

Marist leads the boys division with 17 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze, Grammar is second with 8 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze, while Lomary Secondary School is third with 2 gold and 1 bronze.

Grammar leads the girls division with 14 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze, Saint Joseph’s Secondary School has 9 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze, while Lomary Secondary School is third with 2 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze. 

Grammar's blue ribbon champion, Paula Vonolagi will be looking to bag his second gold medal in the Senior Boys 200 metres race today but he will be challenged by athletes from Nabua Secondary School and Marist Brothers High School.

Vonolagi won the Senior Boys 100 metres race with a manual time of 10.57 seconds. 

Looking at today's progaram, the 3,000 metres will kick off at 8.40 this morning, followed by the 200 metres heats at 9.05am, the 800 metres finals will start at 10.40am, the 200 metres finals are at 12.40pm, and the 4x400 metres finals are scheduled for 2.05pm.

The Javelin, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Triple Jump, and Discus events are also underway.

The Suva Zone 2 will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
