The Vodafone Fijiana rugby team edged Spain 38-32 in a scrappy match during the WXV Global Series in Hong Kong.

Fijiana were staring down a 32–19 deficit against Spain.

Atelini Buna used her speed to burst through the Spanish defence, beating several tacklers before grounding the ball under the posts.

Player of the match Varanisese Qoro added the conversion.

Robust centre Josivini Naihamu powered into the corner to further reduce the deficit.

Spain had controlled much of the match, overcoming a difficult opening quarter to take a 20–19 lead into half-time.

Argudo played a key role in their fightback, while Valentina Pérez and Claudia Cano both crossed for tries.

Fijiana responded through number eight Alfreda Fisher, who powered over after a quick lineout.

Ivamere Rokowati Nabura burst through the Spanish defence and crossed the line, reducing the deficit to six points.

Adi Salote Nailolo then crossed for another try before Repeka Adi Tove completed the remarkable comeback, sparking celebrations for Fijiana.

Head coach Willie Walker's tactical changes in the final 20 minutes proved decisive, with Fijiana's physicality, intensity and attacking execution ultimately overwhelming Spain when it mattered most.

Fijiana will face Hong Kong Women in their next match this Saturday at 7.30pm at the same venue.
