The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has welcomed today's announcement by Super Rugby Pacific confirming an expanded 2027 season, with a longer regular season and a revamped Finals Series set to bring more rugby, more excitement and higher stakes throughout the competition.
The Drua says the 2027 campaign will kick off on 12th February, with each team playing 16 regular season matches across a 17-week season.
They say the top six teams will then advance to a new-look Finals Series, where the top two finishers will earn direct passage to the semi-finals, placing an even greater premium on strong performances throughout the regular season.
Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller says the expanded competition was a major win for everyone involved.
Miller says this is fantastic news for the players, their sponsors, fans and the competition as a whole.
He says more matches mean more opportunities for the Drua Nation to get behind the team, and the new Finals format rewards consistency across the entire season.
