Fijian Drua confident in leadership depth amid Captain setback -Jackson

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Glen Jackson says the team’s leadership group remains strong despite captain Temo Mayanavanua being ruled out for six weeks due to injury.

Jackson says they still have experienced players who can communicate effectively with the referee during matches and make on-field decisions, and Captain Frank Lomani will call the shots against the Canes.

Speaking from Nadi, he says some teams tend to push the offside line and are sometimes fortunate to get away with it, but he is confident that this week’s world-class referee will not allow that to happen.

Jackson was also questioned about the numerous advantages awarded against the Drua in their recent match, which allowed the Waratahs to add valuable points to their scoreline.

He says he has players who will question the referee on those decisions.

The Drua will face the Hurricanes at 3.35pm tomorrow at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Moana Pasifika will play the Force this afternoon at 6.05 and the Reds will face the Highlanders at 8.35pm.

The Chiefs will face the Crusaders at 6.05pm tomorrow, while the Brumbies will take on the Blues later at 8.35pm.
