Fiji's fastest school boy swimmer Reuben Taylor is heading to the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
This is after the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) officially announced the athletes and team officials selected to represent Team Fiji from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026.
Taylor will be joined by Hansel McCaig, Tolu Young, Samuel Yalimaiwai, Don Younger, Anahira McCutcheon and Kelera Mudunasoko. The team will be coached by Willie Elaisa and managed by Cheyenne Rova.
Team Fiji will be represented in 8 sports including Athletics, Basketball 3x3, Boxing, Bowling, Judo, Para Athletics, Weightlifting and Swimming.
The athletics team includes Heleina Young, Adi Ceva Lutumailagi, Glandness Simpson, Errol Qaqa, Yeshnil Karan, Rusiate Matai and Sitiveni Konataci. The team will be coached by Bola Tafoou, assisted by Fesaitu Mario, managed by Nanise Seruitanoa, with Joave Nainoca serving as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The Basketball 3x3 Women's team include Estelle Kainamoli, Ranadi Koroi, Bulou Tuisue, while the Men's have Joshua Fox, Filimone Waqabaca, Keenan Latrell Hughes, Isaac Sewabu, Earl Hughes Coach
and Manager William Peter with non travelling reserves, Matila Vocea, Bulou Koyamainavure, Tyrone Mclennan and Ratu Atirieli Tuivanuavou.
The bowling team includes Elizabeth Moceiwai, Litia Tikosuva and Losalini Tukai, with Sheral Mar named as the non-travelling reserve.
The men's team includes Rajnesh Prasad, Lal Chand Prasad and Surendra Prasad, with Kushal Pillay named as the non-travelling reserve.
The teams will be managed by Adi Taraivosa Kalim.
The boxing team includes Aminiasi Saratibau, Jone Davule, Jasmine Daunakamakama, Ben Maukakala, Elijah Vono and Bolavucu Qiokata. The team will be led by Head Coach Cameron Todd, with Nemani Rokobuli serving as Assistant Coach and Beulah Daunakamakama as Manager.
Judo is sending Gerard Takayawa and his coach Michael Liptrot.
The medical team will include Dr Man Feith Sefanaia Koroi Wong and physiotherapists Sharlene Nand, Akisi Dovibua and Samikari Jacksam.
The non-travelling medical personnel are Dr Nathaneal Lal, Dr Enoch Kolinibaravi and Dr Jone Nasome.
Team Fiji will depart our shores in waves; Basketball, Bowls and Swimming will depart Nadi on 20th July while Athletics and Weightlifting teams will depart Nadi on 22nd July.
The Boxing team will depart Nadi on 4th July for a training camp in Ireland.
The Commonwealth Games are from the 24th of July to 4th of August in Glasgow, Scotland.
