The Fiji Medical Association is mourning the passing of Ministry of Health's Permanent Secretary, the late Dr Jemesa Tudravu.
President of the Fiji Medical Association, Dr Alipate Vakamocea says Dr Tudravu was a reliable guide during challenging times, a mentor and a friend to many in the medical profession.
Dr Vakamocea says one of Dr Tudravu’s notable achievements was negotiating the largest pay increase for doctors that continues to benefit Fiji’s medical professionals today.
He says colleagues remember Dr Tudravu as a silent but decisive leader, who carefully considered every detail before making a decision.
He says the medical profession has lost a lighthouse, mentor and friend and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
The Fiji Medical Association extends its heartfelt condolences to the Tudravu family during this difficult period.
