As the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team prepares to take the field at the Cape Town 7s tonight, coach Osea Kolinisau says the squad is focusing on maintaining mental stability during pressure moments.

While speaking from Cape Town, Kolinisau says they have had many analysis sessions together as a team and are talking about what they can improve on.

He says they need to communicate clearly, keep talking to each other especially when they are tired, make the right decisions at the back end of the game, and ensure they stay alive in the contest.

Fiji last won the Cape Town 7s in 2018 after beating the USA 29-15 and since then, they have not reached the Cup eliminations.

They will open their campaign against South Africa at 10.44 tonight before facing Great Britain at 1.38 tomorrow morning in their second pool match.

They will play New Zealand at 5.19 tomorrow morning in their last pool match.

The men’s semi-final will start at 10.22pm tomorrow and the final is at 2.43am Monday.

The Fijiana 7s will take on the USA at 8.44 tonight, before facing Great Britain at midnight, and they will meet New Zealand at 3.48 tomorrow morning in their last pool match.

The women’s semi-finals will start at 9.38pm tomorrow, and the final will be at 2.10am Monday.

South Africa is the defending men’s champion, while New Zealand is the defending women’s champion.

There will be no quarterfinals, and the top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals.
