The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has discontinued legal proceedings against Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
FICAC counsel Lanieta More stated that their New Zealand service providers have not been able to serve Pryde.
More says this is beyond FICAC's control.
Magistrate Yogesh Prasad has accepted this and closed the file.
The Attorney General's Office raised concerns about some misinformation that was being spread about the extradition papers not being served.
They say that they had received an application from FICAC for the extradition proceedings but had told them that there there were several amendments that had to be made before they can proceed.
The Attorney General's Office says despite several follow ups with FICAC, they never received an amended application.
They say the extradition papers have not even been sent to the requested country because they were not even at a stage to make a request.
