Bukayo Saka's fitness is being carefully managed ahead of the FIFA World Cup, according to England head coach Thomas Tuchel.

The Arsenal winger missed part of the domestic season after suffering a muscle injury in March but returned in time to help Arsenal win the Premier League title.

Speaking at a press conference, Tuchel stated that Saka is still being monitored despite making a successful return to action towards the end of the club campaign.

Tuchel says Saka made himself available for Arsenal's run-in and performed brilliantly, but his workload was managed between matches.

He adds that England are continuing to build up the attacker's fitness ahead of the tournament.

He also confirms that Saka participated fully in training and remains available for selection.

Meanwhile, Tuchel says all members of his squad are fit and ready for England's final World Cup warm-up match against Costa Rica tomorrow at 9pm.

Tuchel says there were no injury concerns following England's 1-0 win over New Zealand, with several players expected to feature for 60 to 70 minutes as preparations continue for their World Cup opener.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will begin this Friday, and England will open their campaign against Croatia next Thursday at 7am.

They will then face Ghana on June 24th at 8am before taking on Panama on June 28th at 9am.
