England and Croatia are locked at 2-2 at halftime in their FIFA World Cup Group L clash.

England opened the scoring in the 12th minute when captain Harry Kane converted a penalty to give the Three Lions an early lead.

Croatia hit back in the 36th minute through Martin Baturina to level the scores at 1-1.

Kane restored England's lead in the 42nd minute with his second goal of the match before Croatia responded again in first-half injury time when Petar Musa found the back of the net in the fifth minute of added time to make it 2-2 at the break.

The result leaves the match finely balanced as both sides search for a winning start to their World Cup campaign.

England are making their 17th FIFA World Cup appearance and are chasing a second world title after winning the tournament in 1966.

Croatia are featuring in their seventh FIFA World Cup and have enjoyed strong recent success on the global stage, finishing runners-up in 2018 and securing third place in 2022.

Meanwhile, Portugal and DR Congo settled for a 1-all draw earlier this morning.

Ghana will face Panama at 11am while Uzbekistan will take on Colombia at 2pm.
