An elderly man was rushed to safety after a fire broke out at Vincent House along Brown Street in Toorak, Suva, at around 1pm today.
Eyewitnesses told fijivillage News that the man was taken out of the building shortly before the flames spread and engulfed parts of the property.
The condition of the elderly man remains unknown at this stage.
Firefighters were quickly deployed to the scene and were able to bring the blaze under control.
Police cordoned off the area while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, with access along Brown Street temporarily restricted.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage.
