Drua 7s focus on one game at a time
The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua 7s side is not looking too far ahead at the final and will be taking the tournament one game at a time when they participate in the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s.

Coach Nemani Nadolo-Kuridrani says the team has not discussed reaching the semi-finals or final but is focused on their first match against the British Army 7s side.

He described the British Army 7s team as a quality side from Europe.

Nadolo-Kuridrani adds that the tournament is a great opportunity for the players to represent the club, wear the Drua jersey, and experience what it feels like to play for Drua.

He also noted that the team has a strong balance of players, ranging from World Cup winners to gold medallists, and is fortunate to have leaders like Joji Nasova and Elia Canakaivata guiding the squad.

The coach says the team is excited to be part of this tournament.

The Drua will be aiming to improve on last year’s performance, when they went down 28-5 to the Fiji 7s team in the semi-finals.

The squad will include: Canakaivata (c), Nasova, Isikeli Rabitu, Philip Baselala, Aisea Nawai, Kitione Salawa, Simeli Karacia, Joweli Walevu, Ilaisa Droasese, Maika Tuitubou, Kalioni Ratunabuabua, Pita Manamanaivalu, Meli Dreu, and Bogi Kikau.

The Drua is in Pool E alongside British Army 7s, Japan SDS, and Yaro Chiefs.

The Coral Coast Fiji 7s will be held from tomorrow to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
