CWM staff urged to carpool amid vehicle break-ins

The Assistant Minister for Health Penioni Ravunawa is urging CWM Hospital staff to practice carpooling due to limited parking space at the hospital.

This also follows the recent incidents of vehicle break-ins near the hospital.

Ravunawa says ongoing maintenance work has reduced available parking within the hospital grounds, forcing many staff to park on nearby streets like Extension Street and Brown Street.

He also raised concerns about staff vehicles being damaged clarifying that CWM Hospital security officers are only responsible for safety within hospital premises and not public roads.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has reminded vehicle owners to take personal responsibility for their cars, noting that police presence cannot cover all areas at all times.
