Sevu Reece scores and sets up another in Super Rugby Aotearoa opener

Sevu Reece scored a try and also set up another as the defending Super Rugby Aotearoa champions, the Crusaders defeated the Highlanders 26-13 in their 2021 season-opener in Dunedin last night.

Codie Taylor, Brodie McAlister and Bryn Hall also scored a try each for the Crusaders.

Taylor scored the first try through a short pass from Sam Whitelock in the 14th minute followed by Hall's try through a cross-kick from Reece.

Reece crossed over the line bouncing off two defenders in the 49th minute.

Crusaders skipper Scott Barrett and Ethan Blackadder were shown yellow cards for discipline issues.

Shannon Frizell and Connor Garden-Bachop each scored a try for the Highlanders.

Today, the Blues will face the Hurricanes at 6.05 tonight.
