Drivers and people living in the coastal areas along the Coral Coast on Queens Highway, Mamanuca Islands, Kadavu, and Southern Lau are to take precautionary measures as a coastal inundation alert is now in force for these areas.
The Nadi Weather Office says a low pressure system to the far south of Fiji is causing moderate southwesterly swells, which may lead to coastal flooding along southern coastal areas during high tide today and tomorrow.
Possible impacts include flooding along coastal areas during high tide, debris being washed onto roads, and dangerous conditions for people taking part in activities near the sea.
