The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Fiji has presented a cheque of $160,000 to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to support the construction of a dedicated facility for the RFMF Wives Committee.
The cheque was presented to the RFMF Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Sapenafa Motufaga, who accepted the donation on behalf of the Force.
Receiving the donation, Brigadier General Motufaga expressed his sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and the Government of China for their generous support.
He has thanked the Embassy and the Government of the People's Republic of China for this generous contribution.
He says family is at the heart of their military community, and this support will significantly enhance the welfare and development of their wives and mothers, who play an important role in supporting the servicemen and their families.
He noted that the RFMF Wives Committee has long operated without a permanent venue, with meetings and activities being held at various military units.
Brigadier General Motufaga says a dedicated facility where members can meet regularly, conduct programmes and activities, and support one another is something we have needed for some time and this generous assistance will help make that vision a reality.

He thanked the Embassy and the Government of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the RFMF and the members of the RFMF Wives Committee, describing the donation as another testament to the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Fiji and the People's Republic of China.
