Fiji responded through Mariana Talatoka, who produced a brilliant individual effort to score and level the match at 7-7.
However, Canada quickly regained momentum, dominating the rucks and breakdowns to win crucial possession.
Their pressure paid off with another try out wide, extending their advantage to 14-7.
Defensive lapses from Fiji allowed Canada to cross for another try before halftime, giving the North Americans a commanding 19-7 lead at the break.
Canada continued to control proceedings in the second half, adding 10 more points to their tally.
Fiji managed only one further try through Reapi Ulunisau, but it was not enough to challenge the Canadians.
