Break the silence. Speak up. Seek support. You do not have to fight alone.
These were the words of encouragement from the Director of Forensics at the Fiji Police Force, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Margaret Marshall, during the unit's awareness programme.

SSP Marshall shared her personal battle with cancer after she was diagnosed in 2021 and given approximately three months to live.
Overwhelmed by the news, she initially kept her diagnosis private until her sister's support encouraged her to seek treatment.
She continues to stand strong, surviving, serving and living with a purpose.

In collaboration with Medical Services Pacific and the Force Medical Unit, the programme provided a range of health including NCD screening, breast examinations, eye and ear checks, mental health counselling, and sexual and reproductive health services.
The Fiji Police Force supports pinktober as a proactive means of creating widespread awareness through community engagement on prevention, early detection and increased access to treatment.
