Yat Sen Secondary School U17 defeated Church College Fiji 39-11 in the Suva Secondary Schools Basketball competition.
Yat Sen is the favourites to win the title but there will competition from schools such as Suva Grammar, Marist Brothers and International School Suva.
Meanwhile, defending U17 champion's Yat Sen Secondary went down 36-33 to Gospel High School.
Marist Brothers High School secured the Under-15 Boys' championship after overcoming Church College Fiji 19-15.
In the Under-15 Girls' division, Suva Grammar School proved too strong for Saint Joseph's Secondary School, earning a 24-19 win.
