Bail extended for man accused of abducting, assaulting military officer's son
Bail has been extended for the man accused of abducting and assaulting the son of a military officer, and he will appear before the court on 3rd August as disclosures have not been served.

Laisiasa Bavai is charged with one count of abduction with intent to subject a person to grievous harm and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Bavai appeared before Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this morning.

Police Prosecution have asked for 7 days as they are yet to serve disclosures.

Bavai's lawyer Kevin Skiba asked since there were no agreed facts, would there be a need for a a pretrial conference to which Magistrate Somaratne agreed that there was no need.
