Discipline has cost Ba Women as they have been beaten 3-1 by Hekari Women in their Group A match of the OFC Women’s Champions League.
Narieta Leba gave the Fijian side the lead in the first half at the National Stadium in Honiara, but a red card for Ba Women in second half stoppage time opened the floodgates, and Hekari flipped the contest to claim a crucial three points.
Ba was leading 1-nil at halftime but the tide shifted for Hekari in the second half.
Ba Women were reduced to 10 players after Sereana Naweni was sent off for a second yellow card in stoppage time, allowing Hekari Women to capitalise by scoring two late goals after already equalising in the 71st minute.
Maria Veronika, Nenny Elipas and Phylis Pala scored for Hekari Women.
Hekari face Henderson Eels FC in their last group game on Saturday, while Ba Women FC will take on Tafea FC, with semi-final places still up for grabs.
