The makers of Awarapan 2 have released a new romantic track, Yeh Awarapan, featuring Emraan Hashmi in an emotional music video, while also marking Arijit Singh's return to playback singing.
The more than three-minute-long song follow's Emraan's character driving through deserted roads, wandering across barren landscapes, sitting alone in dimly lit spaces, feeding pigeons, visiting his lover's grave and drowning his pain in alcohol.
He appears consumed by grief and weighed down by memories that do not fade.
The release is notable because Singh announced on 27th January that he would be stepping away from playback singing.
At the time, he said the decision was based on several factors he had been considering for some time, while making it clear that he was not quitting music altogether.
Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar.
The film will be released in cinemas on 14th August.
