Aston Villa ended their 44-year wait for a major European trophy after defeating Geramn side Freiburg 3-0 in the Europa League final in Istanbul.This victory could also help them secure a sixth Champions League qualification spot next season.

Villa produced a dominant performance in front of thousands of travelling supporters.

Midfielder Youri Tielemans opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish before Emiliano Buendía doubled the advantage before halftime, giving the English side a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.

Young forward Morgan Rogers then put the result beyond doubt with a second-half goal that sparked celebrations among Villa fans inside the stadium.

The victory marks one of the biggest moments in Aston Villa’s modern history, with the club claiming its first European silverware since winning the European Cup in 1982.

Among the thousands of Villa supporters who travelled to Istanbul for the final was Prince William, a well-known Aston Villa fan, who made the trip to Turkey to support his favourite club during the historic occasion.
