16-year-old Fiji Swimmer Anahira McCutcheon is establishing herself among Fiji’s leading young swimmers after winning one gold and two silver at 2026 Australian Age Group Nationals.

Competing in the highly competitive 15–16 age group, McCutcheon delivered a dominant and record-breaking campaign.

Her gold medal in the 50 metres Butterfly in a time of 27.10 seconds showcased her composure and class under pressure, while she claimed silver in the 50 metres Freestyle in a time of 25.49 seconds and 100 metres Freestyle (56.05), highlighting her consistency at an elite sprint level.

Beyond the podium, McCutcheon's performance was defined by an extraordinary series of record-breaking achievements.

She set four Fiji Age Group (15–16) records and four Open National records during the championships—an exceptional milestone that places her among the most promising swimmers in recent years.

Additional swims, including a strong final appearances in the 100 metres Backstroke and a record-setting 50 metres Breaststroke, further underlined her versatility and technical development across multiple disciplines.

As a proud member of the Fiji Aquatics Gold Squad and a Fiji national representative, McCutcheon continues to raise the standard of excellence, inspiring the next generation of swimmers.

Her achievements reflect not only talent, but discipline, dedication, and the ability to perform on the international stage.

McCutcheon is scheduled to compete in several additional events, including the 100 metres Breaststroke and 50 metres Backstroke today, followed by the 100 metres Butterfly tomorrow.


Fiji Aquartics says they wish her continued success and look forward to her upcoming performances.

Fiji Aquatics also acknowledges the commendable performance of Kelera Mundunasoko in the 18-year-old category.

Mundunasoko secured a bronze medal in the 50 metres Breaststroke, improving her time from 33.30 seconds in the heats to 32.97 seconds in the final.

She also reached the finals of the 100 metres Breaststroke, finishing 10th overall, an effort that reflects determination and continued progress at a highly competitive level.

A member of the Fiji Aquatics Gold Squad and a Fiji national representative, Mundunasoko continues to demonstrate her commitment to excellence.
