Alleged Top Shop robbery case sent back to Magistrates Court

The case of alleged Raiwai Top Shop robbers has been transferred back to the Magistrates Court by High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.

23-year-old Lagani Rabukawaqa and 25-year-old Saimoni Macedru are charged with one count each of aggravated robbery.

The two allegedly assaulted a 50-year-old man who was waiting for a bus, and took his watch and $9 in December last year.

Their counsel says their bail had already been determined before the matter was moved to the High Court.

Justice Goundar has directed that a fresh bail application be made in the Magistrates Court.

Both men have been further remanded in custody.

The case has been adjourned to the 26th of this month.
