All schools around Fiji will resume normal operations from tomorrow.
The Ministry of Education says the decision follows improvements in weather conditions and confirmation from schools that their facilities are safe, accessible and suitable for the resumption of normal teaching and learning activities.
Students and teachers are expected to return to classes as scheduled.
However, parents and guardians are being encouraged to use their discretion in areas where local conditions remain unsafe, particularly in places affected by flooding, damaged roads, unsafe river crossings or transportation challenges.
The Ministry says the safety and wellbeing of students remain paramount.
Heads of Schools have also been advised to continue monitoring local conditions and maintain close communication with their respective School Management Committees and District Education Offices should any issues arise.
Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro confirmed the resumption of classes following consultations and advice from the National Disaster Risk Management Office, the Fiji Meteorological Service and other relevant authorities.
Radrodro has also thanked school leaders, teachers, parents, guardians, communities and partner agencies for their cooperation and support during the recent period of disruption.
