Zureen Nisha from Nawaicoba in Nadi charged for allegedly giving false information to a police officer about her husband threatening to assault her has been remanded in custody by the Nadi Magistrates Court.
She is charged with one count of Giving False Information to a Public Servant.
Magistrate Nil Min Fernandez told Nisha to file a formal bail application through her Legal Aid lawyer this afternoon.
Police Prosecutor Pramesh Chand objected to bail saying Nisha has reoffended while on bail.
Nishna has other cases of Common Assault, Theft and Breach of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order.
The 25-year-old woman claimed on Facebook that her husband threatened to assault her and that post was widely shared.
She also claimed Police had refused to assist her with the case.
Witnesses then confirmed to Police that nothing happened on the day she alleged the incident happened.
The case will be called again on the 22nd of this month.
