Youths play a crucial role in our society, and it is essential to involve them in addressing environmental challenges.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru highlighted this during the commemoration of the 2023 International Youth Day in Suva.

The Minister emphasized the importance of empowering the youth with the necessary knowledge, tools and skills to become change-makers and championing environmental conservation.

Saukuru says the government is fully committed to promoting the development of green skills among our young people.

The theme for International Youth Day was 'Green Skills for Youth - Towards a Sustainable World'.

He says the theme highlights the significant importance of building a sustainable world.

He also emphasized the fundamental right of every individual to live in a healthy environment that supports their physical, mental, and social well-being.
