A youth of Vunisea in Kadavu is currently admitted at the Vunisea Hospital after he was assaulted when he allegedly broke into a home in Vunisea.

Divisional Police Commander South, Senior Superintendent of Police, Wate Vocevoce says they have received two reports linked to a social media post of an alleged break-in.

He says a second report was later lodged by the youth's mother claiming her son was assaulted when he was allegedly apprehended by the homeowners.

SSP Vocevoce says investigations into both reports are ongoing.
