Young boy’s simple act of kindness captures nation's heart -Vosarogo

Young boy’s simple act of kindness captures nation's heart -Vosarogo

As the video of the young boy who was picking up rubbish at the HFC Bank Stadium after the 2025 Coca Cola Games concluded yesterday goes viral on social media, Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo says this young boy’s act of kindness has truly captured our hearts.

Vosarogo says in the middle of all the energy and excitement of the Coca-Cola Games, one quiet act of service stood out, a small boy, no older than 10, walking through the crowd with a garbage bag almost as big as him, picking up rubbish.

Vosarogo says the young boy was not looking for praise and had no idea he was on the screen, but he just saw something that needed to be done and he did it.

The Minister says this is what civic pride looks like and he acknowledged his parents and guardians who raised him.

Vosarogo adds this young boy reminds us all that we do not need a title or uniform to make a difference.

He also highlighted that they have seen this before, where the QVS boys did it with pride, and not long ago, the ACS girls showed the same spirit at the Methodist Church Conference in Suva, cleaning up after everyone had gone.

He adds in a time when the world can feel heavy, this young boy reminded us of something simple but powerful and it starts with us.

Vosarogo says he hopes that one day, this young boy will also blitz the track at the HFC Bank Stadium.
