Yeshnil Karan wins gold in 10,000m

22-year-old Yeshnil Karan has continued with his impressive performance in athletics after winning gold and showing his dominance in the 10,000 metres at the 2023 Pacific Games.

Karan started the race slow but picked up his pace after the 9th round.

He also caught up with the last runners and even finished the race with some runners having 2 or 3 more laps left.

The former Tavua College student will also be participating in other long distance races.

Fiji has won 12 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze medals at the 2023 Pacific Games.

New Caledonia is leading with 58 gold, 37 silver and 35 bronze, while Australia is in second place with 29 gold, 19 silver and 11 bronze.
