This moves him above Davendra Prakash Singh, who won 3 gold medals in the 1991 Pacific Games and 3 Gold and one Silver in the 1993 Pacific Mini Games.

Karan is now only 8 seconds behind the time of 8 minutes 13.60 seconds that was set 52 years ago by legendary athlete Usaia Sotutu, in Europe.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Coca Cola Games Senior Boys 1,500 metres and 3,000 metres champion, Evueli Toia was placed 8th on the all-time ranking list after finishing 9 minutes 00.71 seconds in the 3,000 metres open race.

This was Toaia’s first competitive race in Australia since he arrived for intensive training in early September.
