Year 10 students and teachers will be undertaking the Introduction to Elections Module from today.
Supervisor of Elections Mohamed Saneem says an interesting component of the module is that the students will hold positions that the country officially recognises in the Fijian electoral framework and towards the end of the module will have the opportunity to participate in a mock election.
Saneem says the social studies subject in schools had portions in its curriculum on elections where teachers had to do their own research and talk about elections.
He adds the Elections Office took this opportunity back in 2018 to enhance the curriculum material so that teachers are at ease when they are conducting the training.
