Worrying trend continues as 42 people committed suicide in Fiji in the first 5 months of this year

Serious concerns remain in the country about the worrying trend of suicides as 42 lives were lost from January to May this year.

According to Police, 34 people attempted suicide for the same period.

26 men and 16 women took their lives while 20 men and 14 women attempted to take their lives.

The youngest two people who took their lives were between 6 to 12 years old.
