Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica has urged the Lau Provincial Council to work with the government in tackling the issues of drugs that has caused a lot of situations for youths in the country.

While officiating at the Lau Provincial Council meeting held at Studio 6 in Suva, Kamikamica says the issue of drugs has negatively impacted our youths, and if we don't work together, the problem will continue.

He calls on parents to take their responsibility seriously and ensure there is family time in every household.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted some of the things that the government had done when they came into leadership, such as the repeal of the Media Industry Development Act and the abolishment of the draconian Bill 17.

Kamikamica says some laws enacted by the previous government had caused a lot more grievances for landowners, and they have come in to bring about the change that people need.

The Deputy Prime Minister also gave the assurance to the people of Lau that the Government stands ready to assist them in the installation of the Tui Nayau, which he believes will be held in July next year.
