Women celebrate Christmas without their husbands

Two women whose husbands are on peacekeeping duty in the Golan Heights spent their Christmas with their children today at the My Suva Park.

A mother of two, Sesenieli Qidele who is from Bouganville street in Nabua says they had made plans to take their children out themselves on this special occasion as their husbands are on peacekeeping duty.

Qidele says she spoke to her husband this morning and wished him Merry Christmas.

Qidele says she misses him a lot.

A Tongan family also turned out at My Suva Park to enjoy the beautiful Christmas day.

Sepuloni Lolohea who is a lecturer at a University is living in Fiji for the last five years.

Lolohea says they decided to celebrate Christmas in Fiji this year as this is now their home.

He says his family enjoys the lovo and other Fijian food.

Meanwhile, most Fijians decided to spend the day with their close family members and relatives and we also noticed that most families also prepared lovo from early morning.
