Woman in custody for allegedly selling liquor without a license

A 24-year-old woman is in police custody for allegedly selling liquor without a license in Tacirua.

Police say officers based at the Valelevu Police Station conducted a raid last night at a shop reported to have been selling liquor without a license, whereby they seized more than 100 cans and bottles of liquor.

They say the woman was arrested at the scene, and investigations continue.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu says such illegal operations also breed other unlawful activities, and operations are intent on destabilising the illegal markets.
