A woman has come forward with information regarding the recent alleged abduction claims.

Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says the Criminal Investigations Department has gathered information regarding the ownership of the vehicles, however more information is required to proceed with the investigation.

Police continue to call on those who have posted on social media and other platforms to come forward and provide more details about the abduction claims.

Serious concerns have been raised by some women who have been allegedly targeted by some people at night.

There have been posts on social media with videos of some drivers following women in Nadi and Suva at night, offering them free rides and drinks if they get into the vehicle.

The women say they are concerned, and they are highlighting these incidents for everyone to know as they are worried about cases of rape and sex trafficking.

Qiliho had earlier directed CID to investigate the matter where several allegations were made of abduction attempts in Suva by the driver of a silver Toyota Prius.
