Witness in Nakasi murder trial tells court CCTV footage was not tampered with

The first prosecution witness in the murder trial of four men charged in relation to the death of a 21‑year‑old man outside a service station in Nakasi in 2016, has told the court that the CCTV footage shown in court was not tampered with.

Alipate Naimoso, Epeli Tucila, Saimone Tucila Snr and Saimone Tucila Jnr are each charged with a count of murder.

Abjit Singh who is the IT Site Supervisor for Tappoo Group of Companies informed the court that he was not given any warrant by police when he had extracted the footage and given it to them in a USB.

 

Defence lawyer, Shantel Hazelman asked Singh if the footage shown in court was a zoomed version to which he said no.

Singh further explained that a video footage cannot be zoomed.

Police Sergeant Jemesa Lave will be giving evidence tomorrow before High Court Judge Justice, Riyaz Hamza.
