When we keep the ball longer, we score tries - Kolinisau

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side are working on keeping the ball longer as this is something they saw lacked last season.

Coach Osea Kolinisau says they want to start well this year as there are no more quarterfinals.

He says last year, they won the ball but were thrown away in the rucks, lineout and breakdown as well.

Kolinisau says he understands other teams will attack this area but they are learning about keeping the ball longer.

He adds they know when they keep the ball, they can score points.

Fiji is the defending Dubai 7s champion after they defeated Spain 19-5 in the final.

The Fiji Men’s 7s team will begin their Dubai 7s campaign against Argentina at 9.10pm next Saturday.

They will then take on South Africa at 12.16am next Sunday, and play France in their last pool match at 4.12am.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s will begin their campaign against the USA at 7.20pm next Saturday, followed by France at 9.59pm the same day, and New Zealand at 1.27am next Sunday.
